About Lisa ANDERL
Lisa was appointed to City Council in December 2018, and elected in 2019 and again in 2021 by strong majorities. Since then she has worked diligently in the interests of the citizens of Mercer Island. Lisa prioritizes fiscal sustainability, and is working on the priorities of balancing the budget, preserving public safety through effective and compassionate law enforcement, and addressing critical infrastructure needs that are long overdue.
A long-time resident, Lisa values the parks, the safe neighborhoods, the small town feel with its great local businesses, and the lake, among all the other great aspects of the community.
Lisa has an undergraduate degree and a law degree from Gonzaga University. She brings over seven years of experience studying the issues that face Mercer Island, and making decisions in the best interest of the community. She also brings negotiation and analytical skills from her 40+ years as an attorney. Lisa is now retired from her most recent position as Assistant General Counsel for CenturyLink.
